Platform Configuration dialog

Settings that affect an entire project are specified in the Platform Configuration dialog.

This dialog is accessible from the Project Configure platform menu item or the Configure platform toolbar button in the Platform toolbar at the top-right of the interface.

Pages in the Platform Configuration dialog

The Platform Configuration dialog has several pages that you can access and modify. Below is a brief description of each page and a link to more information. Note that the pages (and subpages) that are available to you can depend on hardware components and project settings.

Emulation page. Allows you to select which type of platform to emulate for your project. For more information, see the Emulation mode subsection of the Connecting to a runtime platform section in Chapter 2: Building a project.
Systems page. Allows you to add, remove, configure, and rename the systems that your project uses. Typically, systems are added and configured automatically. However, some hardware components (such as Matrox Indio) must be represented in a Matrox Design Assistant project with a system component before you can access the physical component (for example, any auxiliary input/output signals). For information on adding a Matrox Indio system, see the Adding a Matrox Indio system to the Systems page subsection of the Adding a Matrox Indio system to your project section in Appendix E: Matrox Indio.
Cameras page. Allows you to add, remove, and rename the cameras that your project uses. For information, see the Cameras and images section in Chapter 2: Building a project and the Platform settings for your camera section in Chapter 28: Acquisition.

Image Sets page. Allows you to add, remove, and configure the image sets that your project uses. For more information, see the Procedure for configuring image sets section in Chapter 29: Acquisition using image sets.
Industrial Protocols page. Allows you to configure the communication methods that your project uses (for example, communication with PLCs using the PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and Modbus industrial protocols). For more Information, see the Communication methods section in Chapter 39: Communication overview.
IOs page. Allows you to add, remove, rename, and configure the input and output pins available on your platform. For more information, see the IO steps overview section in Chapter 40: IO steps.
Network Interfaces page. Allows you to add, remove, or configure available network cards (NICs). For more information, see the Network steps overview section in Chapter 43: Network steps and the Procedure for using the NetworkConnection step section in Chapter 43: Network steps.
Robots page. Allows you to add, remove, or configure available robot controllers. For information, see the Robot steps overview section in Chapter 45: Robot steps.
Serial Ports page. Allows you to add, associate a name with an available COM port (which is used in the SerialPortReader step and the SerialPortWriter step), remove, or configure available serial ports. For more information, see the SerialPort steps overview section in Chapter 44: SerialPort steps and the Procedure for using the SerialPortSetup step section in Chapter 44: SerialPort steps.
