Matrox’s Latest SMPTE ST 2110 NIC Cards Successfully Complete JT-NM Testing Program

Matrox NIC cards pass stringent interoperability testing program for the ST 2110 standard; Matrox X.mio5 Q25 NIC card also part of a plug-and-play, multi-node ST 2110 demo at the NAB 2019 IP Showcase

MONTREAL, Quebec — April 9, 2019 — Matrox® Video today announces that its Matrox X.mio5 Q25, Matrox X.mio3 IP, and Matrox DSX LE5 Q25 SMPTE ST 2110 network interface controller (NIC) cards have successfully passed the Joint Task Force on Networked Media (JT-NM) testing program for the SMPTE ST 2110 standard.

The new JT-NM testing initiative is designed to provide full transparency and insight regarding key technology and vendor reference points to broadcasters evaluating and/or transitioning to IP-based infrastructures. As part of the inaugural testing program, each of the three Matrox NIC cards completed the ST 2110-20 video, ST 2110-30 audio, and ST 2110-40 ancillary tests; the Matrox X.mio3 IP card was also used as a reference device for the ST 2022-7 redundancy test.

Sponsored by the JT-NM and administered by the EBU and IRT—two top European technical bodies—the JT-NM Tested program offers prospective purchasers of IP based equipment greater, more documented insight into how vendor equipment aligns to the SMPTE ST 2110 and SMPTE ST 2059 standards. Vendors who submitted equipment to be tested and agreed to make their results public are listed, with their products’ test results in the JT-NM Tested catalog which is publicly available at the IP Showcase booth at NAB 2019 and at http://jt-nm.org/jt-nm_tested/.
