Matrox Imaging is an established and trusted supplier to top original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and integrators involved in machine vision as well as medical and scientific imaging. The components consist of smart cameras, vision controllers, I/O cards, and frame grabbers (video capture cards), all designed to provide optimum price-performance within a common software environment.

Businesses served include the automotive, electronics, flat panel display, medical device and semiconductor manufacturing sectors; the food, beverage and pharmaceutical production sectors; the medical diagnoses and intervention field; the packaging, surveillance and transportation industries

Technologies pursued include 3D machine vision for automated visual inspection and robot guidance as well as machine learning for visual quality control.

As a Field Applications Specialist for the Imaging Group, you will be responsible for all or some of the following:

  • Work with technical staff and customers to solve technical software or hardware problems by telephone and/or e-mail.
  • Develop software specific applications and demos for customers, reps, and integrators.
  • Provide field service and hands-on troubleshooting at customer sites, and coordinate on-site support efforts with Matrox HQ.
  • Provide feedback to Engineering, Marketing and Sales regarding technical problems.
  • Provide technical training to customers, reps, integrators and others as required.


  • A college diploma in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science;
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in image processing and debugging vision systems;
  • A good working knowledge of structured programming theory, knowledge of C, C++, C# and VB programming languages and some Intel assembly language, knowledge of PCs, familiarity with Windows, Linux and object-oriented programming;
  • An excellent command of written and spoken English;
  • Superior communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a multitasking environment.
