Description

Matrox Imaging is an established and trusted supplier to top original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and integrators involved in machine vision as well as medical and scientific imaging. The components consist of smart cameras, vision controllers, I/O cards, and frame grabbers (video capture cards), all designed to provide optimum price-performance within a common software environment.

Businesses served include the automotive, electronics, flat panel display, medical device and semiconductor manufacturing sectors; the food, beverage and pharmaceutical production sectors; the medical diagnoses and intervention field; the packaging, surveillance and transportation industries.

Technologies pursued include 3D machine vision for automated visual inspection and robot guidance as well as machine learning for visual quality control.

As a junior instructional designer, your primary mandate will be to prepare content for Matrox Imaging's online training platform, Vision Academy Online. The online content is primarily narrated animations explaining technical material to computer programmers and other technical users.

Responsabilities

  • Conduct a needs assessment to determine the scope of the videos in a course and the technical content of each video;
  • Develop storyboards with narration, and draft summative evaluation questions for each video;
  • Create draft videos, possibly including narration;
  • Assist in creating final videos in collaboration with the motion graphic designer

Qualifications:

  • Background in technical writing, courseware development, instructional design, or another related field;
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills; good French communication is an asset;
  • Ability to grasp novel technical concepts, especially programming concepts;
  • Comfortable creating a visual story from a blank page;
  • Previous experience in technical writing or computer programming is an asset.
