Position summary:

Under the supervision of the Vice-President, Finance and the Corporate Controllers, the Assistant-Controller will be responsible for the maintenance of the General Ledger for the two main companies of the Matrox Group, as well as related tasks and analysis.

  • Responsible for generating and reviewing period-end journal entries to the General Ledger;
  • Review and maintain supporting schedules for all General Ledger accounts;
  • Analyze and reconcile inventory and gross margin by business unit and legal entities, as well as review product costing files;
  • Review and approve Accounts Payable batches on a daily basis;
  • Prepare and submit preliminary financial statement packages to the Corporate Controllers for review;
  • Engage in the design and maintenance of new KPIs ;
  • Participate in the companies' transition to IFRS;
  • Assist Corporate Controllers with special requests and projects, including the improvement of the current period-end financial reporting package.


  • CPA designation (Canada);
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a corporate accounting/finance environment;
  • Intermediate/Advanced skills in Excel;
  • Autonomous and attentive to details;
  • Strong analytical skills and capacity to meet deadlines;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (French and English).
  • Experience with GP Dynamics and/or AS400/MAPICS;
  • Experience with SQL queries;
  • Knowledge of IFRS.
