We are searching for an Applications Engineer - Sales based in our Dorval, Quebec headquarters to support the US territory. As a member of the Sales team, your main mission is to collaborate with the territories' Sales Representatives and participate in the full sales cycle for new and existing products.

Responsibilities:
  • Master Matrox product knowledge for communications with customers
    • Product Marketing specification (Hardware and Software)
    • OEM development tools (all SDK's, APIs, sample code, etc.)
  • Assist customers with advancing OEM design work
    • Answering architectural or implementation-level technical questions
    • Interface between customer engineering and Matrox engineering
  • Understand who the target customers are for key strategic products by interfacing with the Product Managers and the Sales Director
  • Close customers by completing the tasks required to overcome technical and commercial obstacles to generate orders
  • Generate technical documents and participate in technical communications between Matrox and OEM customers
  • Conduct training in person or by web of technical material, as required
  • Build strong relationships with existing and new OEM customers and enabling partners in between
  • Cooperate with in-territory 3rd-party partners including independent hardware vendors (like monitor vendors) and independent software vendors (like software vendors) on synergistic opportunities
  • Travel to customer sites and trade shows to meet with, educate, train, and support key customers
  • Address problems quickly to remove obstacles.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Other Science or Engineering degree with a strong ability to demonstrate computer-related skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills- Ability to adapt complex subject matters when dealing with engineers, product specialists, commercial people, and senior decision-makers
  • Organizational skills and ability to maintain clear progress reports
  • Works well in a team environment as well as alone
  • Strong technical and engineering skills
  • Ability to travel to engage strategic clients in the US
  • Personable, dynamic, mature, and very professional
  • Multi-tasking skills and efficient time-management
  • 1 or more year(s) of programming or software development experience
  • Capable of learning detailed technical specifications about products (hardware and especially software)
