Matrox Maevex Remote Recorder Configuration and Firmware Utility

The Matrox Maevex Remote Recorder Configuration and Firmware Utility is an intuitive software dedicated to configuring Maevex 6020 remote recorders for establishing communication with, and to be controlled by, the Panopto Cloud video management software. This is done with a few simple steps: by locating all the Maevex 6020 devices automatically, using the Panopto account information and credentials to configure the units and manage advanced settings, and updating the changed settings and/or firmware. The firmware in the Maevex devices can be updated remotely and/or silently. Advanced settings include identification of the proxy server, synchronizing the date and time across all appliances, retrieving the device performance logs, formatting the SSD to clear the storage memory, and assigning Static IP addresses for locating the devices.

The software utility is used to:

  • Discover the Maevex 6020 devices easily over the network by searching for and locating them either automatically, or by manually entering the IP addresses.

  • Manage the devices found after authenticating them using credentials—multiple devices can be authenticated all at once.

  • Configure the devices to communicate with the Panopto Cloud video management system by using the Panopto account information

  • Fix advanced settings for identifying the proxy server, lock the recording button on the unit, format the SSD, view the device logs for troubleshooting, and assign Static IP addresses for locating the devices.

  • Update firmware for all selected Maevex devices, and synchronize the date and time across the devices

  • View the status of all the Maevex devices from a central location using the dashboard.
