Fenics announces its first 10-bit medical imaging software solution developed on Matrox display controller board technology

Matrox MED Series and Matrox AuroraVX Series 10-bit display controller boards help Fenics optimize its Intelligent Diagnosis System software

Montreal, Canada, December 12, 2006 —Matrox Graphics Inc., the leading manufacturer of graphics solutions for professionals, is pleased to announce that Fenics has completed its Intelligent Diagnosis System software for mammography, equipped with viewing consoles, ACR classification helping tools and Computer Aided Detection (CAD), developed on Matrox display controller boards for medical imaging, and supporting the 10-bit simultaneous output display capability of the Matrox MED™ Series and Matrox AuroraVX™ Series 10-bit display controller boards. This 10-bit medical imaging software is now available on the market from Fenics and was developed using Matrox Imaging Library (MIL) software development toolkit on Matrox Graphics display boards for medical imaging.

A Lyon-based French software company focused on developing tools to assist radiologists in their diagnostic work, Fenics has created the Intelligent Diagnosis System - a Computer Aided Detection and Recognition (CADR) system - offering cancer detection professionals a line of products for mammography imaging, with tools for digitization, storage and display. The Fenics Intelligent Diagnosis System software is equipped with mechanisms that allow the user to view prior and current images simultaneously for analysis, and features a unique mirror function that supports zoom, window & level, dynamics contrast, and a host of other functions to both images on two separate 5 MP grayscale displays simultaneously at 10-bits per pixel output.

The Matrox MED Series of display controllers represents a top-to-bottom solution configurable for landscape and portrait modes ranging from two through five mega pixels. Designed to meet the demanding needs of medical imaging professionals, the MED Series boards come equipped with Matrox's multi-monitor features, such as Multi-Pivot and Portrait, and the ultimate in visual quality and reliability.

Equipped with Hardware Pivot, the AuroraVX Series of display controller boards is capable of driving various combinations of color and grayscale displays in portrait and/or landscape modes, and features an 8- or 10-bit display output for 256 or 1024 simultaneous shades of gray, depending on the available displays attached. Providing medical imaging professionals with versatile multi-display options, the AuroraVX3mp offers excellent performance and stunning image quality, ideal for Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS), and a variety of modalities such as X-Ray imaging, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Digital Radiography (DR).
