    DirectShow support

    Matrox capture cards feature Microsoft® DirectShow® support, enabling OEMs and system integrators the flexibility to incorporate their existing applications into Matrox-based systems. With little to no development effort, existing third-party applications can be deployed instantly to interface directly with Matrox hardware to capture, decode, and display baseband/physical and IP content onto multi-monitor and video wall configurations.
    Matrox Mura IPX™ Series 4K capture and IP encode/decode cards feature four types of DirectShow filters: basic filters, stand-alone filters and multi-decoder filters to capture the board’s four physical HDMI or two DisplayPort™ video sources, and an RTSP filter to capture the card’s IP streams. The filters allow the DirectShow multimedia framework to view the Mura IPX capture card as an input device. Microsoft AVStream®—part of the same framework—then manages the video captures. Developers can choose either to code or to use existing third-party applications to control the content. This enables system operators to run any DirectShow-compliant software to play back video content, either locally or over the network, on familiar interfaces. Having multiple Mura IPX capture cards in a system also means multiple iterations of the AVStream-managed Matrox sources can easily be generated to support as many media streams and channels as required.

    The Matrox Network API provides OEMs, ISVs, AV integrators, consultants, and end users with an easy-to-use programming interface to quickly and easily start building powerful video wall control software for Matrox-powered systems.


    Focus on custom settings and intuitive user interfaces, while the Network API executes all the cumbersome, back-end programming operations.


    Network API commands are OS agnostic and can add Mura-based video wall processing functions to applications running on Microsoft® Windows®, Linux™, and other operating systems.


    Easily integrate Mura-based video wall control within popular commercial audio/video automation systems (e.g. AMX, Crestron) to provide customers with a single touch panel interface to control multiple devices.

    Featuring a network-centric, command-line interface, the Network API contains a comprehensive list of text-based commands designed to eliminate low-level coding typically required for developing remote video wall controller management applications (ex: assigning system memory, managing hardware resources, etc.). This drastically minimizes programming requirements and enables fast and easy software development, so developers with even basic-level coding skills can effortlessly start writing video wall scripts and commands.
    Leveraging the Telnet network protocol means the Network API experience can run on any Telnet client application, hardware device, operating system, and standard Ethernet LAN—ensuring interoperability and facilitating deployment in virtually any environment. For secure installations that block Telnet, or when there is no network available, the Network API also supports RS-232 serial communication. The Network API supports the HTTP/HTTPS protocol to encrypt communication between the remote system and the appliance.
