Matrox to Offer Series of AV-over-IP Training Sessions

Free Monthly Sessions to Provide Education on AV-over-IP; Including Streaming Protocols, Resolution & Formats, Network Planning and IP Troubleshooting

Matrox Graphics will be offering a series of free AV-over-IP training sessions designed to help distributors, dealers, AV integrators, and system builders stay ahead of the AV-over-IP curve.
MONTREAL — May 10, 2017 — Starting June 1, 2017, Matrox® Graphics will be holding a series of free AV-over-IP training sessions designed to help distributors, dealers, AV integrators, and system builders stay ahead of the AV-over-IP curve.
 
Conducted at the Matrox training facility in Harefield, Middlesex, The Matrox Knowledge Net is a series of monthly, 2.5-hour sessions focused on major topics in the AV industry. Covering best practices, competing technologies, and key differentiators, these seminars are designed to provide system integrators and resellers an in-depth knowledge of AV-over-IP, with the added benefit of offering guided, hands-on practical application experiences.
“There is a knowledge gap at the moment; people are looking to understand networked AV because the demand to integrate it is growing by the minute,” said Cecilia Wills, Country Manager (UK), Matrox Graphics. “Our team has a wealth of experience in this area, and by providing a well rounded IP skill- and knowledge-set to talented AV folks, they will be better able to serve their clients and move the market, as a whole, forward.”
 
Each session will explore a different aspect of the AV-over-IP landscape, and the series is structured in a way that builds knowledge and skills from introductory to advanced levels:
 
  • June 1: Understanding the different streaming protocols: Strengths, weaknesses and uses
  • July 6: Streaming and networks: Transporting signals over networked infrastructure
  • August 3: Understanding the display: Pixels, bit rates and resolutions
  • September 7: Video walls for all reasons: Interpreting the client request into what they actually want
  • October 5: IP troubleshooting: Avoiding issues and solving problems
