Membership Furthers Matrox’s Commitment to Standards-Based Video Encoding

Matrox, global provider of video hardware for encoding and decoding, has joined the rapidly expanding SRT Alliance.
MONTREAL — 13 September 2017 — As part of an ongoing mission to enable high quality, interoperable video, Matrox Graphics Inc. today announced it has joined the rapidly expanding SRT Alliance.
Looking to enhance the value of digital video assets, the SRT Alliance promotes the integration of the SRT protocol, enabling the delivery of high quality and secure low-latency video across the public Internet.
“Matrox believes in the use of true standards-based encoding versus the use of proprietary technologies in AV-over-IP,” said Ron Berty, Maevex product manager, Matrox Graphics. “We believe that the SRT alliance is a step in the right direction to reduce latency while supporting the use of open standard codecs.”
