Broadcast Equipment Manufacturers Can Finally Build PC-Based Ingest, Production and Playout Servers to Enable Full XAVC Workflows

Matrox M264 encoder card for XAVC 4K Intra Class 480 files lets broadcast OEMs build PC-based video servers to enable full XAVC workflows.
MONTREAL – April 12, 2016 — Matrox® Video today announced that the Matrox M264 encoder/decoder card now supports Sony XAVC formats including the compute-intensive 4K Intra Class 480 up to 59.94 frames per second. The card encodes a single stream of XAVC 4K Intra Class480 or Class300, a single stream of XAVC QFHD Long422 200Mbps, up to six HD streams of XAVC HD Intra Class100 or up to 10 HD streams of XAVC HD Long422 50Mbps in real time. M264 offers the pristine quality needed for broadcast ingest, production and playout applications. Developers of PC-based video servers can achieve high-density XAVC encoding and decoding very cost-effectively with Matrox M.264—they can offload CPU resources for other tasks, minimize power consumption and conserve rack space.
OEMs are invited to book a meeting with the Matrox OEM team at the 2016 NAB Show (Las Vegas, April 18-21, booth SL6317) to see a demonstration and discuss the complete Matrox developer products roadmap.
