Matrox’s Next-Generation Maevex Encoders Deliver Zero-Compromise Multi-4Kp60 Capture, Pass-Through, and Encoding

Matrox Maevex 6152 quad- and 6122 dual-input encoders offer multi-4Kp60 capture with zero-latency pass-through and ultra-low-latency 4Kp60 streams and recordings for video-intensive, mission-critical applications

Matrox Maevex 6152 and 6122 Encoders

MONTREAL — August 24, 2021 — Matrox® Video today announces an expansion to its AV-over-IP portfolio with the new Matrox Maevex 6152 quad-4K and Maevex 6122 dual-4K encoders. These next-generation Maevex encoders feature multi-4Kp60 4:4:4 capture with zero-latency pass-through while simultaneously delivering multiple 4K streams and recordings, offering unprecedented quality levels from capture to encoding. Equipped with multiple streaming protocols, HDCP 2.2 support, and complimentary Maevex SDKs and APIs, these Maevex encoders ensure best-in-class AV content distribution in control rooms, operation centers, medical environments, and other critical settings.

Best-in-class capture and encoding. High-quality experiences

Multi-4Kp60 4:4:4 input capture with real-time 4Kp60 4:4:4 pass-through on each output are essential display requirements for local video- and data-rich applications common in mission-critical 4K environments. Leveraging Maevex’s industry-leading encoding capabilities, HDCP support, and multiple streaming protocols options—including HLS, MPEG2-TS, RTP, RTMP, RTSP, and SRT—the Maevex H.264 encoders simultaneously ensure secure, high-density encoding of up to four 4Kp30, two 4Kp60, or many more lower resolution streams and recordings over LAN, WAN, and internet. When coupled with the Maevex 6152 decoder, this encoder/decoder pairing offers the market’s most comprehensive balancing of security features, low latency, quality, multi-channel support, and low bit rates. The resulting platform doubles as both a high-density AV-over-IP solution and an inter-facility gateway solution to bridge signal management assets from multiple sites.

360-degree on-device and software control

Built on the same low-power, whisper-quiet, 1U ½ rack form factor as the previous generation Maevex 6100 Series encoders, the new appliances each include an on-device LCD screen and six buttons to enable installation, streaming, and recording operations directly on the hardware. In addition, the included PowerStream Plus software allows users to centrally manage all Maevex devices, streams, and recordings, while complimentary Maevex APIs and SDKs allow developers to build new applications or integrate the PowerStream Plus functionalities into existing applications.

"The new Matrox Maevex 6152 and 6122 encoders offer breakthrough image quality by allowing 4Kp60 desktop operators to run video- and graphics-intensive content and applications in their native resolutions," said Ron Berty, business development manager at Matrox Video. "Along with HDCP support and Maevex 6100 Series' industry-renowned encoding capabilities, the new game-changing encoders deliver video anywhere, anytime—whether it's on local operator desks or over standard LAN connections, limited WAN pipelines, and noisy or unpredictable internet networks."
