Matrox Extio 3 introduces a first-of-its-kind IP KVM platform offering secure and seamless KVM extension and switching over LAN, WAN, and internet.

MONTREAL, Quebec — February 9, 2021 — Matrox® Video today announces KVM-over-internet support with its Matrox Extio™ 3 IP KVM extenders. This new mode of operation allows organizations to expand work-from-home remote programs by enabling off-site employees with secure access to their powerful workstations and specialized equipment. Featuring 4K and multi-monitor KVM extension and switching support with secure network connectivity, users can now connect to and control, share, and manage systems and applications as they would on-premises for an optimized remote working experience.

Extio over internet is ideal for a wide range of mission- and time-critical industries, including electric utilities, broadcast, post-production, oil and gas, medical, military and defense, transportation, and more.

KVM-over-internet extension and switching

The first 4Kp60 IP KVM to support LAN, WAN, and internet over a standard Gigabit Ethernet network, Extio over internet provides power users, knowledge workers, and broadcast operators and directors with instant, high-quality 4Kp60 and quad 1080p60 4:4:4 video, audio, and USB 2.0 signal extension. Extio 3’s Aggregator Mode feature further streamlines remote workflows by providing control of multiple systems—users can simultaneously view, control, and switch between multiple systems from a single 4K display or multi-monitor setup, using only a single keyboard and mouse set.

Secure remote connection. Discreet solution.

Extio 3 integrates advanced security features—such as IPSec VPN, multi-factor authentication, and AES 128-bit hardware encryption—ensuring secure and safe transmission and communication of all audio, video, and USB signals over the network. In addition, Extio 3 is a discreet solution eliminating the need for software installation on the source system, minimizing validation and deployment times. Extio 3 over internet also carries zero licensing fees, further saving on costs.

“We are very excited to bring another level of flexibility with our Extio 3 product line, as organizations can now standardize on one KVM-over-IP product to control their systems over LAN, WAN, and internet,” said Caroline Injoyan, business development manager at Matrox Video. “Extio 3 allows users to take advantage of their workstations or specialized equipment from a distance, and our integrated VPN client gives them a secure and private connection over internet.”

Extio over internet availability

Extio over internet will be available in March 2021 as a free Extio 3 firmware and Extio Central Manager software upgrade. For more information or to request a demo, please contact Matrox.
