Alberto Cieri

Alberto Cieri, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing

Alberto is Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Matrox Video. Prior to joining Matrox, Alberto was owner and president of Cieritech, an avionics consultancy. Since joining Matrox in 1991, Alberto has held a variety of different roles in Sales, including Sales Engineer, European Sales Manager, OEM Video Sales Manager, Worldwide Distribution Sales Manager, and Director of Sales (USA and EMEA). In these roles, Alberto has managed the Sales, Marketing, Applications Engineering, Technical Support, and Product Management teams. Alberto holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Concordia University. In his spare time, Alberto loves spending time with his family, golfing, skiing, playing hockey, going for a good run, and making his own wine.

Bengt Hessel

Bengt Hessel, Vice President, Sales & Marketing (EMEA)

Bengt is Vice President of Sales & Marketing, EMEA for the AV/IT Group of Matrox Video. Born in Sweden, he moved to Munich, Germany in 1980 to take a job as a test engineer at Siemens, after completing his master’s degree. Bengt stayed in high tech, successfully moving into a sales role, and joined Matrox in 1993, where he was tasked with opening a new sales office in Munich, Germany. Prior to joining Matrox, he held positions at Number Nine GmbH, ATI Technologies GmbH. Bengt holds a Master of Science in Engineering, with specialization in Computer Science, from the School of Engineering Physics at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. As a descendant of the Vikings, he loves outdoor sports and is a passionate sailor.

Sam Recine Matrox

Samuel Recine, Vice President, Sales (Americas and Asia Pacific)

Samuel is Vice President of Sales, Americas and Asia Pacific for the AV/IT Group of Matrox Video. Since joining Matrox in 1997 he has held Sales and Product Management roles. Having collected experience from CAD and GIS, simulation and training, emergency dispatching in PSAPs, trading systems in commodities and securities, and AV/IT processing in communications and presentation systems, Samuel has been immersive in working in control rooms with partners and customers and helped Matrox build its ecosystem of technologies and partnerships in video walls, KVMs, and encoding for recording and live streaming for command and control operations. Samuel holds a Bachelor of Marketing and Finance from McGill University.

Francesco Scartozzi

Francesco Scartozzi, Vice President, Sales & Business Development

Francesco is Vice President of Sales and Business Development for the Broadcast and Media group (BMG) of Matrox Video. In his current role, Francesco is responsible for managing the worldwide BMG Sales and Product Management teams to develop, sustain, and grow revenue. Extremely loyal, he joined Matrox in 1995 and has held various roles from Applications Engineer, building his technical knowledge while sharpening his customer support skills, to Sales Director, managing a sales team and developing performance goals in order to drive opportunities for growth. Francesco holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Management from McGill University.

David Chiappini Matrox

David Chiappini, Executive Vice President, Research & Development

In July 2021, the Matrox family lost David Chiappini, a long-time friend, mentor, and leader. David was Executive Vice President of R&D for Matrox Video. He joined Matrox in 1994 as an intern and was hired as an ASIC designer in 1996 upon completing a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Concordia University. During his long career at Matrox, he held multiple roles where he demonstrated his ability to create unique work environments that combined innovation, engineering creativity, humor, and kindness. David was known for his passion for technology and innovation, and under his guidance as VP of R&D, Matrox grew its position as an industry leader in video technologies. A member of the Quebec Order of Engineers, in 2018 David was named chair of the ProAV Work Group at AIMS.
