Matrox Iris GTR
Matrox Iris GTR smart camera and new additions to Matrox Imaging Library (MIL) vison software will be featured at The Vision Show 2016.
MONTREAL – Mar. 23, 2016 — At The Vision Show, (Boston, May 3–5, booth 939), Matrox® Imaging will present the new Iris GTR smart camera that is smaller, faster and more cost-effective than its predecessor. Major updates to Matrox Imaging Library (MIL) vision software will also be featured including Matrox SureDotOCR™, the first OCR technology specifically designed to overcome the challenges of reading dot-matrix text in vision inspection applications.
Matrox Iris GTR is designed for systems integrators, machine builders and OEMs of factory automation solutions. It measures just 75mm x 75mm x 54mm allowing it to fit into tight spaces. It uses On Semiconductor® PYTHON CMOS image sensors with high readout rates and an Intel® Celeron® dual-core embedded processor that allow it to inspect on faster moving lines or perform more inspections in an allotted time. Its IP67-rated housing and M12 connectors make Iris GTR dust-proof, immersion-resistant, extremely rugged and right at home in dirty industrial environments. It comes pre-installed with Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 7 or Linux, giving developers the choice between the two prominent environments for running their vision application software.
In addition to Matrox SureDotOCR, which lets packaging line equipment builders design inspection systems that reliably read information applied by industrial inkjet printers despite text distortion and orientation as well as uneven backgrounds and illumination, other new tools in MIL 10 PP2 for Windows include a reliable ellipse finder, 3D cross-section extraction and analysis using the existing metrology tool and a barcode reader that works in more instances without adjusting default settings.
