Intern, Technologist (S-09-04)-Winter 2024

Position Summary

The intern must perform various maintenance, diagnostic and repair tasks on various manufacturing equipment.  He/she must be able to work under pressure to restore production operations following an interruption. With a good analytical mind, versatile and willing, he /she will be called upon to interact with the support staff as well as the production staff.

Responsibilities 

• Provide technical support to equipment operators during assembly;
• Validate and prepare the assembly of a first prototype board;
• Performs maintenance on various equipment;
• Maintains records of equipment maintenance and repair;
• Maintains inventory of replacement parts;
• Participates in the development and qualification of assembly processes mainly for surface mount and wave soldering;
• Participate in manufacturing reviews of new products;

Qualification

• Final semester of college studies (DEC) in industrial electronics or electrical engineering: automation and control
• Working knowledge of production equipment related to electronic assembly;
• Familiar with the operation and repair of production equipment (asset)
