Matrox’ is currently looking for a mechanical designer for its CAD group.  We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about mechanical design, who enjoys working as part of a team and who wants to deliver high quality products to our customers.


  • Participation in feasibility assessments for product development projects;
  • Conceptualization of enclosures, systems, and subsystems;
  • Development, research, and qualification of mechanical and electromechanical components;
  • Creation of product concepts in 3D models;
  • Design of enclosures, systems, and parts, as well as PCB outline definition and mechanical component positioning on the PCB;
  • Creation of 3D models and 2D drawings including silkscreen using SolidWorks;
  • Development of CFD simulations (SolidWorks FloTherm), including report;
  • Vibration and temperature testing, as well as preparation of test benches;
  • Write test reports;
  • Study and corrections related to quality issues;
  • Communication with suppliers and subcontractors.



  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or industrial design engineering;
  • Very good knowledge of 3D design using SolidWorks;
  • Interest in mechanical integration and enclosure design of electronic products;
  • Interest in learning and understanding the certification requirements in electromagnetic, electrical, and mechanical compliance (FCC, UL, CSA, CE, etc.) ;
  • Interest in knowing, understanding, and participating in the thermal qualification activities of electronic systems;
  • Interest in thermal simulation using CFD tools;
  • Ability to interact with multiple people, including subcontractors and suppliers;
  • Ability to multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously;
  • Passionate about his work and high-end technologies;
  • Versatile and goal-oriented;
  • Passionate about his work and high-end technologies;
  • Flexible, autonomous, efficient, with a team spirit to collaborate with teammates;
  • Knowledge of a programming/scripting language like Visual Basic would be an asset;
  • Good knowledge of English and French, spoken and written.
