This new firmware and BIOS is to improve compatibility with newer generation systems. This firmware disables support for the Extio 2 expander units (F2408E). This new firmware and BIOS is to improve compatibility with newer generation workstation and server systems. It addresses compatibility issues with the Dell R7910, Dell PowerEdge 430 and 730 and the Lenovo X3650 M4 systems. This new Firmware no longer supports the Extio II expander units F2408E as well as potential issues with Power Management.

This BIOS/FIRMWARE is intended for 2013 and newer UEFI-based systems. When this BIOS/FIRMWARE is released to manufacturing, we recommend you download and continue with the previous BIOS/FIRMWARE you have been using on systems earlier than 2013.

All UEFI systems require to be set in legacy mode to be supported with Extio II.
