Applying a page curl to a title
The Matrox realtime plug-in for Adobe Premiere lets you set up spectacular realtime 2D and 3D effects and transitions, such as particles, 3D tiles, distortions, and page curls, using up to two video clips and a 32-bit graphics layer.
This tutorial guides you through the steps of creating a title using the Inscriber TitleExpress plug-in for Adobe Premiere, and shows you how to apply a realtime page curl to your title. TitleExpress is a television-quality character generator that lets you create stills, rolls, and crawls for your Adobe Premiere projects on Matrox RT2500.
- Create a new title
Start Adobe Premiere. To create your title, do the following:
- Start TitleExpress by choosing File > New > Inscriber TE RT Title.
- From the Title Template list in the CG Toolbar, select the predefined template 1245 Lower Third 145. Click OK when a message pops up to confirm that you want to change the current layout.
- In the workspace, select the word Heading, and replace it with "Our Wedding." Replace the word Subheading with the words "The Reception."
- Choose File > Save to Premiere. Give your title a filename and click Save. Your title is saved as an .icg file and is automatically placed in your Adobe Premiere project bin.
- Set up the Adobe Premiere Timeline
Import any video clip into your Adobe Premiere project. Drag this clip onto track Video 1A. Drag your title to the Timeline onto track Video 2. An Alpha Channel key is automatically applied. Drag the border of your title so that it is the same length as your video clip on track Video 1A, as shown below.
- Apply a page curl to your title
To apply a Matrox page curl effect to your title:
- Drag the Matrox Page Curls effect from the Video effects palette onto your title on track Video 2. The Matrox Effect Setup dialog box opens automatically.
- Using the Directory list, navigate to Page Curls > Single Rolls, then select bottom rc roll from the Effect List.
- Click OK to return to your Timeline.
- Preview your effect in real time
Press the Play button in the Monitor window or press the Enter key on your keyboard to preview the resulting page curl in real time.
