Additional required software
We installed patches and drivers in the following order:
- Microsoft Service Pack 2 for Windows 2000.
- Intel's Chipset Software Installation Utility, version 3.20.1008.
- Intel's ATA Storage driver, version 6.20.2020.
- Onboard SoundMax integrated digital audio, version 5.12.1.3032, date: 09/18/01 from Compaq's website.
- Onboard Intel Pro/100 VM network controller, version 5.0.67.0, date: 08/28/00 from Compaq's website.
- During validation of this computer, we encountered random black flashes while playing back certain projects on Matrox RT2500. To avoid this problem, you should download and install the appropriate fix. Please follow the instructions outlined in the associated .txt file.
