Download update to Matrox Mx.tools 4.0.1
This software update is provided only for users that are presently running Matrox Mx.tools 3.6 or 4.0. It requires you to uninstall your current Mx.tools software, but you must keep the Matrox effect patterns (GFX files). The Matrox 3.6 and 4.0 effect patterns are compatible with the Mx.tools 4.0.1 software.
Note: If you want to update from Mx.tools 3.6 on a 32-bit operating system to Mx.tools 4.0.1 on a Windows Vista 64-bit system, you must download and install the full Mx.tools 4.0.1 DVD content.
Install Matrox Mx.tools 4.0.1
| Important information for Windows Vista 64-bit users To download the Matrox files on a Windows Vista 64-bit system, you must use Windows Internet Explorer and add the Matrox websites to your zone of trusted sites. To do this, choose Tools > Internet Options > Security, select Trusted Sites, and click the Sites button. In the Trusted Sites dialog box, clear the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone option. You can then add the following Matrox websites to your zone of trusted sites: ftp://hftp.matrox.com ftp://hftp2.matrox.com ftp://hftp3.matrox.com |
- Uninstall your current Mx.tools software (choose Start > All Programs > Matrox Mx.tools > Uninstall Matrox Mx.tools). Important: When prompted, do not choose to remove the Matrox effect patterns.
- If you're updating from Mx.tools 3.6 to 4.0.1, install Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, version 4.0.1, and any third-party programs for which you want to install the Matrox WYSIWYG plug-in, such as Adobe After Effects CS4.
- Download the following file: RTX2_401Update.zip (132 MB).
Internet Explorer users: When server traffic is heavy, you may be prompted to enter your user name and password to connect to the Matrox FTP server. This indicates that the maximum connection limit to the server has been reached. If this happens, click Cancel in the displayed dialog box, and then try the download again later.
- Run WinZip to extract the contents of the downloaded file to a folder of your choice on your hard drive (make sure that the "Use folder names" option is selected).
- Double-click the extracted RtxSetup.exe file to run it.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install Matrox Mx.tools 4.0.1 (the installation of the Matrox effect patterns will be skipped).
- If you're updating from Mx.tools 3.6 to 4.0.1, download the following file: CS4Presets.exe (1 MB), then run the downloaded file to install the Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 presets.
