(English version)
(August 21, 2002)

The following file contains the Matrox RTMac installer for Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, and discreet combustion. Before you can install this software, you must install Apple Final Cut Pro 2 or later, or Adobe Premiere 6.0 and the update to 6.0.1, as well as QuickTime 6 or QuickTime 5. You can download QuickTime 6 from Apple's web site at www.apple.com/quicktime/download. This installer also installs the correct Japanese and German RTMac presets for Final Cut Pro 3, and the Matrox RTMac Enabler for Final Cut Pro 3.

Note: You can install the RTMac software to enable only WYSIWYG support for After Effects or combustion without having Final Cut Pro or Premiere installed on your system. For more information, see the Release Notes for Matrox RTMac for Final Cut Pro (PDF format, 95 KB) or Matrox RTMac for Adobe Premiere (PDF format, 98 KB).

Matrox RTMac Firmware 1.1 Updater

(August 27, 2001)

This firmware update allows you to install and run Mac OS X on a system that already has Matrox RTMac installed. Without this firmware update, installing or using Mac OS X on a system with an early model Matrox RTMac would cause the system to crash. You'll still be able to run Mac OS 9 as usual. To determine if you need this firmware updater, please see the file check_rtmac_firmware_version.txt.

  1. Download the following file:
    MatroxRTMacFirmware1.1.sit.bin (95 KB)
Netscape users: To download, CONTROL+click the file, choose "Save link target as" from the shortcut menu, then specify a location to save the file.
  2. You should use Stuffit Expander, available at http://www.aladdinsys.com/expander/ to uncompress the downloaded file.
  3. Run the file, Matrox RTMac Firmware Updater, to update your Matrox RTMac firmware.
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions. Once you receive a message saying that your firmware has been successfully updated, quit the updater and restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Important: You cannot mix different language versions of your Mac OS, drivers, and Final Cut Pro. You must use the English versions of Final Cut Pro and your Mac OS with the driver software you download from this page.
