Matrox DSX-based Newauto Himalaya Xtreme Non-linear Editing Systems Used in China 10th National Games

IBC 2005, Amsterdam, September 2005 - Matrox Video® Products Group today announced that Matrox DSX-based Newauto Himalaya Xtreme nonlinear editing systems will be used in a media sharing system at the International Broadcast Center along with Panasonic P2 production systems to broadcast China's 10th National Games.

China's 10th National Games will be held in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province from October 12-23, 2005. Since it is the last big games before the 2008 Olympics to be held in Beijing, the 10th National Games is a very important sporting event in China. The media sharing system of the International Broadcast Center of the 10th Games is equipped with 50 editing stations plus 30 capturing stations and servers.

Newauto will cooperate with the Jiangsu Province TV station to provide the live graphics broadcast, the media sharing systems and the P2 production systems. Newauto will be using its Newauto Shenbi A8 character generator, its Himalaya Xtreme series non-linear editing systems, and its Auto.MAM media asset management systems, all based on Matrox technology. Newauto began installation in early August and will also provide the optimization, training, and maintainance of the systems for the October event.

The Newauto Himalaya Xtreme non-linear system is based on the Matrox DSX HD/SD digital video platform. It supports HD and SD editing, realtime multilayer video and graphic compositing, multiformat input and output, and the ability to mix different video, audio, and graphic formats.
