e-mediavision.com Exploits the Power of Matrox DSX Developer Products in POINT-HD Telestrator
Montreal, Canada, April 1, 2008 - Matrox® Video Products Group today announced that e-mediavision.com has chosen the Matrox X.mio card, part of the Matrox DSX™ line of developer products, as the hardware engine for its POINT-HD high definition broadcast telestrator.
POINT-HD is popular with sports, news, and weather commentators in broadcast facilities worldwide, including BskyB, BBC, CH5, Newscorp (FOX), ART, MBC, SBS, and NTV+, as it allows them to easily tell their stories live on air. They can annotate, draw, place, and move animated graphics over live video, using a touch screen. The user interface can be customized to suit individual preferences, allowing non-technical presenters to use the tools effectively with minimal training. Customized graphics can be imported and used as tools within the presenter's interface, giving any program its own unique look and feel.
"Our very first development started out with the Matrox DigiMix boards seven years ago and we have kept our product line up-to-date using the new generation Matrox X.mio cards with relative ease," said Kash Acharya, e-mediavision.com CEO/MD. "The Matrox product is reliable and provides the feature set required to handle SD and HD production formats on a single card, which in turn safeguards clients' investments with our POINT-HD solutions."
e-mediavision.com's products will be demonstrated at NAB 2008 in booth SL11005. The Matrox DSX product line will be demonstrated in booth SL320.
POINT-HD is suited for both studio and outside broadcast productions, and the system can be set up quickly with minimum fuss or technical engineering resources. POINT-HD supports both SD and HD formats. The system provides SDI input and SDI key & fill, or graphics keyed over video outputs. POINT-HD outputs are genlocked to the SDI input, which reduces cable requirements for reference signal input and saves on engineering resources by not having to time the output signals at the vision mixer/switcher. POINT-HD allows the presenter's touch screen monitor(s) to be located remotely from the main system unit by use of KVM extenders using CAT5 (300 meters) or fiber optic (10 km) transmission.
