Matrox Announces New Features for Matrox DSX Developer Platforms at NAB 2006
Montreal, Canada, April 20, 2006 - Matrox Video Products Group today announced the immediate availability of significant new features for the Matrox DSX family of HD and SD video and audio components for OEMs and developers of high performance broadcast products. The Matrox DSX platforms exploit Matrox's "Power of X" and "Flex" technologies to enable OEMs and developers to leverage scalable CPU and GPU power to create a wide variety of cost-effective products and applications including NLE systems, capture/playout servers, clip and still stores, graphics/production servers, automation and master control units, multi-layer compositors, and CATV barker channels.Matrox DSX combines codec and effects technologies and a full range of professional hardware components with a comprehensive Windows XP-based SDK. New features in release 2.5 of the Matrox DSX SDK include support for pixel-based on-board scaling, pixel-based on-board compositing, advanced GPU effects using third-party graphics cards, realtime software 2D DVE, and a highly efficient MPEG-2 I-frame codec for 4:2:2:4 animation playback.
