Matrox Announces New Features for Matrox Axio Platforms Including HDV 720p (JVC ProHD) Support

IBC 2006 - Amsterdam, September 7, 2006 - Matrox ® Video Products Group today announced that release 2.5 software for the Matrox Axio™ realtime HD and SD editing platforms will provide significant new features including realtime native editing of JVC's ProHD HDV 720p format. Matrox Axio will be demonstrated on the Matrox stand 7.128, the Adobe stand 10.100, and the JVC stand 10.441.

"In this important new software release, we are building on Axio's extensive codec support for a wide variety of cameras by adding realtime native editing of all the 720p frame rates supported by JVC's popular 100 ProHD series camera," said Ankit Patel, Matrox Axio product manager. "In addition, we will go a step beyond what Adobe Premiere Pro software offers alone and support the 50 and 59.94 frame rates provided by the new 200 and 250 ProHD series cameras."

Matrox Axio release 2.5 is currently in Beta and scheduled for final release in October 2006. It will support all three platforms in the Axio family - Axio LE, Axio HD, and Axio SD.
