MONTREAL – June 30, 2014 — Matrox® Video today announced that its Monarch™ HD streaming and recording appliance is now part of the Works With Wowza™ partner program from Wowza® Media Systems, LLC. Joint Matrox Monarch HD–Wowza Streaming Engine™ customers will benefit from enhanced integration and ease-of-use, simplifying their live streaming workflows.

Monarch HD users can now simply download an XML file containing all relevant credentials to connect to the Wowza sever via the Wowza Streaming Engine Manager admin panel, select an encoding preset and begin streaming.

“The Works With Wowza partner program provides customers with tested, integrated, and supported end-to-end streaming components,” said David Stubenvoll, co-founder and CEO of Wowza Media Systems. “The addition of the cost-effective Matrox Monarch HD to this program will make high quality video streaming easily accessible to an even wider range of live event producers.”

“We have plenty of customers already using Wowza who will benefit greatly from the improved user experience offered though this collaboration,” said Daniel Maloney, technical marketing manager, Matrox Video. ”And new users, even those new to streaming, can get up and running with confidence, faster and easier than ever before.”

Matrox Monarch HD is a small, easy-to-use H.264 encoder designed for professional video producers who need to simultaneously stream a live event and record a mastering-quality version for post-event editing. From any HDMI input source such as a camera or switcher, Matrox Monarch HD generates an H.264-encoded stream compliant with RTSP or RTMP protocol. While encoding the video at bitrates suitable for live streaming, Matrox Monarch HD simultaneously records a high-quality MP4 or MOV file to an SD card, USB drive, or network-mapped drive. Matrox Monarch HD is remotely controlled using any computer or mobile device with a web browser.
