Installing your Matrox RT2500 with Windows XP

Windows XP support

Matrox Video Tools 3.1 has now been fully tested and approved with Windows XP. Click here to download Matrox Video Tools 3.1. For instructions on installing Matrox Video Tools 3.1 on a computer with Windows XP, click here (PDF format, 142 KB).

Note Please be aware of the following issues when installing Matrox Video Tools 3.1 on a Windows XP system:

  • If you are upgrading your existing operating system to Windows XP, you must uninstall Matrox Video Tools and remove your RT2500 hardware first.
  • If you have a Matrox G400, G450, or G550 card, do not install the Matrox display driver provided with the Matrox Video Tools 3.1 CD because this driver is not compatible with Windows XP. Instead, please install version 5.72.021 of the Matrox display driver for Windows XP from the Matrox Graphics web site
  • If you choose to uninstall and re-install Matrox Video Tools 3.1, make sure you follow the instructions in the section "Note about DV-1394 devices and uninstalling Matrox Video Tools" in the document (PDF) mentioned above.
