Matrox Imaging states Cognex complaint is unfounded
July 17, 2002, Montreal, Canada - Matrox Imaging, a division of Matrox Electronic Systems Ltd., today announced that it has become aware, through a Cognex Corporation press release, of a patent infringement lawsuit filed against Matrox and its Massachusetts manufacturer's representative by Cognex. Matrox has yet to receive this lawsuit from Cognex.
Matrox invests significantly in R&D and is convinced of the integrity of its intellectual property including its imaging and vision software technology. Matrox is confident that its technology does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any of its competitors including Cognex. Matrox believes that the Cognex allegations are without merit and will vigorously contest the lawsuit.
