Matrox Imaging announces card for multiple-channel video capture and H.264 encoding

September 15, 2008, Atlanta, USA — Today at ASIS 2008, Matrox Imaging is announcing the Matrox Morphis Evo, a video capture card with real-time multi-channel H.264 encoding. Designed for next-generation DVRs, the Morphis Evo card offers the right mix of features for applications that require real-time capture and simultaneous compression of multiple standard video sources.

The Morphis Evo captures from NTSC, PAL, RS-170 and CCIR video sources. A x1 PCIe® short card, the Morphis Evo can record and encode up to 16 full D1 video streams in H.264 format. Each channel supports motion, blind and night detection, as well as detection of video loss. The display overlay also supports region blanking. Eight sensor inputs, 8 relay outputs and a serial RS-485/422 interface are available as an add-on module.

Software support is available for Microsoft® Windows® XP, and consists of the field-proven, hardware-independent Matrox Imaging Library (MIL)/ActiveMIL or MIL-Lite/ActiveMIL-Lite development toolkits for creating custom applications.
