MIL 8.0 has arrived!
Latest Matrox Imaging Library (MIL) release integrates feature-based OCR module and many other additions and enhancements
July 6, 2005, Montreal, Canada - Matrox Imaging today announced the latest release of its award-winning software development toolkit for machine vision, medical imaging and image analysis - Matrox Imaging Library (MIL) 8.0 for Microsoft® Windows® 2000 and Windows® XP. This high-level programming library offers an extensive set of optimized functions for image capture, processing, analysis, display and archiving.
Additional features and enhancements for MIL 8.0 include:
- The integration of MIL's String Reader module. This sophisticated feature-based character recognition software is ideally suited for demanding applications such as automatic number plate recognition (ANPR).
- An improved camera configuration utility. Matrox Intellicam is a Windows®-based program that lets developers interactively configure Matrox image capture hardware for a variety of image sources or try out one of the many ready-made interfaces available from Matrox Imaging.
- New multi-buffered image capture mode for the utmost reliability and performance
- New and improved display management
- Support for the latest hardware from Matrox Imaging. MIL offers a common API that offers support for CronosPlus, Meteor-II family, Orion family, Corona-II, Genesis family, Helios family, Morphis family and Solios family of boards.
MIL offers an intuitive and easy-to-use function set, as well as a choice of programming environments: classic C/C++ or ActiveX (by way of ActiveMIL 8.0).
MIL 8.0 for Windows® 2000 and Windows® XP has been released to manufacturing and will start shipping by the end of July 2005. Run-time licenses are available as well as unlimited licenses for OEM customers interested in large volume deployment.
