Environmental Committee
In 1989, an environmental committee was established by Matrox employees with the objective of promoting the benefits of recycling. Since then, with Matrox's support, many programs have been successfully implemented and improvements are ongoing:
- Distribution of a reusable cloth grocery bag to every employees to replace the use of plastic bags
- Distribution of a reusable cup to every new employee to minimize use of styrofoam and plastic cups
- Paper recycling
- Recycling of soft drink cans
- Electronic component recycling
- Handout of tree shrubs to employees
RoHS and WEEE compliance committee
In June 2004, Matrox established an additional environmental committee for pursuit of RoHS and WEEE Compliance. The purpose of the committee was to coordinate all RoHS and WEEE compliance activities. In the past year, Matrox has collaborated with industry peers and suppliers working towards full compliance with both directives.
