Rail Simulator Testimonial

"Including TripleHead2Go support with Rail Simulator was a natural step for us. Rail Simulator has been built from the ground up to make use of recent advances in PC technology, so we were already supporting a range of high-definition screen resolutions in the game. We simply adjusted the game engine to support the resolutions that our consumers would want to use with a three-screen setup. From an application perspective, that was really all that was absolutely required - TripleHead2Go did the rest of the work. Having such a wide virtual screen did create some odd effects with the user interface (which had been implicitly designed for a single monitor), so we took the opportunity to make the user interface presentation sensitive to the screen resolution. This prevented circular objects becoming stretched ovals across the multiple displays and, as a useful side-effect, improved the user interface on widescreen monitors as well!

In summary, the changes we made to support TripleHead2Go were:

  1. Add appropriate screen resolutions to support multiple screens.
  2. Change user interface code to be sensitive to widescreen setups.

The benefits of adding TripleHead2Go support became apparent as soon we started to demonstrate the prototype to our potential users. Rail simulator became far more immersive, and as a result of our experience, we'd certainly encourage all developers to consider the benefits of support for TripleHead2Go with their titles as well."
