Matrox Streaming Media Decoder (Preliminary)

The Streaming Media decoder (SMD) is the newest addition to the Matrox display wall line of controller cards, adding hardware decoding capabilities for compressed video over IP, and supporting real-time display on a grid of display devices. Each SMD can decode up to 32 QCIF streams or up to 8 D1 streams, while simultaneously decoding multiple formats. The SMD integrates with existing display wall controller cards from Matrox, which include RGB and DVI output cards, RGB and DVI capture cards, as well as S-Video/composite (CCTV) capture cards. This flexibility allows for large scale visualization systems, supporting display grids of up to 64 outputs and a virtually unlimited number of inputs. |
