Matrox to Showcase an Integrated Visualization Environment for Military Simulation and Training Operations at ITEC 2013
Matrox KVM extension, video distribution over IP, video wall controller board, and multi-monitor adapter technologies combine to drive multiple networked platforms across the entire training facility
MONTREAL — May 16, 2013 — Matrox® Graphics Inc. will replicate a fully collaborative, multi-platform military training environment at ITEC 2013. A Matrox Avio™ F125 fiber-optic KVM extender transmitter in the server room will extend combat simulation content—with zero compression and zero latency—to the Avio F125 receiver unit in a training center, which in a real-word scenario could be located up to 4 km away. A Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital Edition external multi-monitor adapter connected to the Avio receiver unit will in turn deliver an immersive triple-monitor training station. Matrox Mura MPX™ single-slot, output/input video wall controller boards will then capture and display the trainee desktop on a local 2x3 video wall in a collaborative theatre as Matrox Maevex™ 5100 Series video over IP encoders/decoders distribute the same trainee desktop onto an off-site 2x2 video wall in a remote classroom over a standard IP network. Meanwhile, remote management tools including MuraControl™ and Maevex PowerStream software available at the supervisor control desk can be used to adjust video wall layouts and video over IP streaming parameters.
Matrox Avio F125 fiber-optic KVM extenders separate dual HD video, keyboard, mouse, stereo analog audio, and USB 2.0 devices from a workstation. The transmitter/receiver pair extends two single-link DVI (2x1920x1200) or one dual-link DVI (2560x1600 or 4096x2160) video, and multiple high-speed USB 2.0 compliant devices from the host computer by up to 400 m (1312 ft) over multimode cable and 4 km (2.5 mi) over single-mode cable. Avio F125 stands out for its ability to transmit all signals with zero compression and zero latency on a single duplex LC-LC fiber-optic cable.
Matrox Maevex 5100 Series delivers excellent-quality and affordable streaming, with the Encoder/Decoder bundle available for just $1299 USD. Maevex video distribution over IP solutions enable the extension of Full HD-quality video over standard IP networks. Maevex encoders and decoders capture, stream, and decode video from a variety of sources, and even allow for software-based decoding on non-Maevex devices. Maevex units come bundled with PowerStream software for easy remote management of Maevex devices, enabling a wide variety of user-defined stream-management features. These include adjustable low bit rates for cost-effective bandwidth consumption.
Matrox Mura MPX Series output/input video wall controller boards feature highly flexible, universal input channel support for both digital and analog (DVI, RGB/VGA, Component, S-Video & Composite) video signals. Mura MPX high-density analog video capture cards provide additional NTSC/PAL/SECAM input channel support, while the Mura MPX-SDI board enables up to two 3G SDI video inputs and two DVI outputs. Matrox MuraControl⢠video wall management software, available for Windows® and iPad®, provides an easy and intuitive management of Mura MPX-powered video walls. A variety of window and source management features let users display, edit, and control content so their video walls meet their specific display requirements.
Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital Edition external multi-monitor adapters add up to three external displays to a notebook or desktop computer. TripleHead2Go connects to the video output of your system and uses the system's existing GPU to provide high-quality, uncompressed graphics and video across all monitors. The expansive on-screen desktop space provides an expansive in-game field of view ideal for combat simulators.
