Matrox and Sharp to Co-Host Emerging Video Wall Technology Showcase 2011

Latest AV innovations to be put on full display in London

LONDON, England, September 16, 2011 — Matrox Graphics Inc. and Sharp are pleased to announce their collaboration in organising the Get the BIG Picture, Emerging Video Wall Technology Showcase 2011 in London on September 29, 2011.

Set to provide industry enthusiasts with the opportunity to see and learn more about the latest video wall technologies making waves today, the showcase will equally allow attendees the knowledge to uncover how to tap into new and exciting AV business opportunities.

Sharp’s own 60”LCD PN-V602 video wall monitor with super-high 1,500 cd/m2 brightness are at the forefront of the event and will be used in conjunction with Matrox Mura™MPX Series video wall controller boards. Mura MPX Series controller boards are the first of their kind to feature both inputs and outputs on the same board, whilst redefining the future of collaborative video walls and wall-matrix management. Each Mura MPX board represents a building block onto which users can add additional boards to drive more inputs and outputs - all from a single system to drive truly impressive configurations.

"We are definitely excited to showcase Mura for all to see on Sharp’s latest high-performance, LCD video wall monitors,” says Helgi Sigurdsson, Product Manager, Matrox Graphics Inc. “Sharp have proven themselves as one of the industry’s leading innovators. The opportunity to leverage one another’s technology will surely benefit both parties, not to mention the end users who will ultimately take advantage of such a solution.”

The ultra-slim bezels of the Sharp PN-V602, combined with a single Matrox Mura MPX board, will display a nearly seamless, high-impact video wall targeted primarily for digital signage applications. Meanwhile, the Emerging Video Wall Technology Showcase 2011 promises the chance to get an edge on the competition. Visitors will learn to minimise setup times, hear from top influential AV leaders and gain exposure to some of the most versatile innovations in the industry.

“The Mura MPX video-wall controller is an ideal companion for our unique range of ultra-slim bezel video-wall monitors,” says Darren Gaffey, Product Marketing Manager, Sharp Electronics UK Ltd. “Matrox has again delivered a product that not only provides high quality professional graphics, but is simple to configure, making it much easier for users to create powerful and versatile video-wall solutions”.
