VISUS Chooses Matrox Xenia Pro For JiveX Mammography Workstations

Matrox display controller board advantages include flexible triple digital display support for radiology reading rooms and advanced clone functionality for meeting rooms

Montreal, Canada / Bochum, Germany, May 6, 2010 — Matrox Graphics Inc., the leading manufacturer of specialized graphics solutions, today announced that VISUS has validated Matrox Xenia Series display controller boards with JiveX Diagnostic Workstation Mammo software and recommends installing Matrox Xenia Pro boards within VISUS mammography workstations to power up to three high-resolution digital diagnostic monitors from a single PCI Express slot.

A comprehensive supplier of image management systems, VISUS is focused on providing the fastest image reading possible for their growing number of PACS customers both inside Germany and around the world. In a recent interview, Jens Martin, Product Manager with VISUS states, "The Matrox driver architecture supports rendering output of Java programs very well already. This saves us time that we usually spend on optimizing the rendering for other graphics board vendors."

Martin also identifies the new Matrox TheatreVUE-like functionality available through Matrox Xenia Series PowerDesk Zoom as a problem-solver, allowing VISUS clients to standardize on a single board-level solution that can clone high resolution displays to lower resolution video projectors in hospital and radiology clinic meeting rooms, in addition to driving the typical triple-display set-up found within diagnostic radiology reading rooms.

"Matrox is pleased to have VISUS once again choose Matrox medical imaging solutions to deliver pristine image quality for their mammography diagnostic workstations," says George Rigas, Business Development Manager for Medical Imaging, Matrox Graphics Inc. "VISUS partners and customers installing Matrox Xenia Series display controller boards will benefit from improved workflow efficiency of JiveX Mammography including fast, smooth window & level, zoom and pan. Matrox Xenia’s low power consumption will help hospitals and radiology clinics save on energy costs, while Xenia’s simplified installation and flexible triple digital display support enable rapid deployment and reduced support issues."

Visitors to the 91st Deutscher Roentgenkongress in Berlin (May 12-15, 2010) are invited to stop by the VISUS booth for a demonstration (Halle 2.1, Stand B22).
