Carestream Health Selects Matrox Xenia Series Boards for CARESTREAM Mammography Workstations

Matrox Xenia Pro to drive cost-effective Carestream mammography solution for breast imaging facilities at RSNA 2010

Montreal, Canada/Rochester, USA, November 25, 2010 — Matrox Graphics Inc., the leading manufacturer of specialized graphics solutions, today announced that Carestream Health has selected Matrox Xenia Series display controller boards to drive a variety of CARESTREAM PACS and mammography deployments. Xenia and Xenia Pro deliver smooth, reliable image quality plus triple high-resolution monitor support from a single PCI Express slot. RSNA 2010 attendees are invited to booth #222 (Lakeside Center) where Carestream Health will be demonstrating their digital mammography workstation using the Matrox Xenia Pro board.

"The Matrox Xenia Series provides Carestream Health with display controller boards that meet the demands for high performance and image quality within radiology imaging today," says Ron Muscosky, Product Line Manager for Carestream Health, Inc. "This is especially important for the CARESTREAM Mammography Workstation, where optimized workflow and diagnostic confidence are absolutely critical."

The vendor-neutral, multi-modality CARESTREAM Mammography Workstation improves radiologist productivity through the ability to display surgical files, clinical images and patient data at one workstation. The workstation enables efficient diagnostic review of all breast imaging exams (FFDM, ultrasound, MR, CR and others) as well as all general radiology exams. This eliminates workflow bottlenecks created by the need for radiologists to read FFDM exams on each vendor’s proprietary workstation, and then switch to additional workstations to review other types of breast and general radiology exams.

"This medical imaging collaboration with Carestream Health offers affordable, yet highly advanced solutions for breast imaging environments," says George Rigas, Business Development Manager for Medical Imaging, Matrox Graphics Inc. "With Xenia and Xenia Pro’s leading-edge feature sets driving CARESTREAM PACS and Mammography workstations respectively, radiologists will benefit from a superior triple-monitor viewing platform that delivers pristine image quality—using a variety of display technologies—while optimizing workflow.”

Matrox Xenia Series provides triple digital display support from a single slot PCI Express board including forward- and backward-compatibility with a broad range of monitors and projectors for the utmost flexibility. Pristine image quality at resolutions ranging up to 8MP and new technology to enable optimum display calibration (via Matrox DLC™ and 8/10/13-bit gamma LUTs) are also key benefits. 1GB of on-board memory for smooth, reliable performance boosts overall productivity, facilitating efficient diagnosis and reporting by medical imaging professionals on any known and approved display.
