Montreal, Canada, March 4, 2008—Matrox Graphics Inc., the leading manufacturer of professional graphics solutions, today announced that Eizo Nanao Corporation is offering the Matrox MED5mp™ display controller board with its RadiForce GS520 5 MP medical displays, and Matrox MED2mp™, RAD™ and AuroraVX™ Series display controller boards with the recently announced RadiForce RX211 2 MP medical displays. Continuing Matrox's long-standing partnership with the display manufacturer, the latest offerings will afford EIZO customers the benefit of excellent image quality on both their grayscale and color medical imaging displays.
"Matrox is excited to continue its partnership with EIZO, in offering our various display controller boards as a solution to bundle with EIZO's GS520 and RX211 displays," says George Rigas, business development manager for medical imaging, Matrox Graphics Inc. "Our boards combined with EIZO's medical displays will produce stellar image viewing for accurate readings."
EIZO first demonstrated the new 5 MP (2048 x 2560 native resolution) monochrome LCD monitor at RSNA 2007. Featuring a high resolution and high definition display designed specifically for digital mammography, the EIZO GS520 paired with the Matrox MED5mp 10-bit board allows for 10-bit (1,024 tones) simultaneous display from a 13.7-bit look-up table (13,771 tones).
The EIZO RadiForce RX211 2 MP (1200 x 1600 native resolution) color LCD monitor is designed to meet the needs of hospitals for a grayscale- and color-capable display for diagnostic imaging. This high brightness, multi-purpose display can be used to view images from a variety of modalities including CT, MRI and endoscopy, and features 750 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 1100:1.
"We are pleased to continue to offer Matrox display controller boards such as the MED, RAD and AuroraVX Series as options with our medical imaging displays," said Kazuhide Shimura, managing officer and general manager of the Strategy Group, Products and Business Development at Eizo Nanao Corporation. "Matrox's pristine image quality and long life-cycles are some of the reasons why our customers continue to request Matrox boards with our displays."
Matrox MED Series display controller boards, including the MED2mp, MED3mp, and MED5mp, represent a top-to-bottom approach for display configurations supporting landscape and portrait modes. In addition, Matrox RAD Series boards expand the medical imaging product line with dual output support for analog or digital displays. The Matrox AuroraVX Series board can power one analog Navigation Console display, along with two Twin Imaging Displays from a single low profile PCI Express board.
