VertigoXmedia and Matrox Graphics Join Forces at NSCA Conference

Montreal, Canada, March 13, 2006 —VertigoXmedia is teaming up with Matrox Graphics at the National Systems Contractors Association conference (NSCA) in Las Vegas on March 16-18 to bring together the two companies' digital signage hardware and software solutions in a shared booth. One innovative joint solution they will showcase for delivering targeted messages to up to four monitors combines the new Matrox Extio F1400 graphics unit with Vertigo's easy-to-use Xpresenter software, enabling users to separate the user interface from the rest of the computer over significant distances by using fiber optic cable.

"Matrox has created exciting new graphics hardware technologies that are capable of supporting multiple displays from a single computer to provide cost-effective digital signage solutions," said VertigoXmedia's founder and CEO David Wilkins. "But graphics hardware is only part of the equation - content must first be created before it is delivered. That's where our Xpresenter software comes in, enabling users to utilize familiar Microsoft PowerPoint® software to create stunning dynamic digital signage content that complements Matrox's multi-display technology."

"We're excited to introduce the newest multi-display graphics technology available to the digital signage community at NSCA and demonstrate how concerns over issues like extension, security, and maintenance can be overcome with the Extio F1400 and Xpresenter," said Ron Berty, business development manager of Matrox Graphics' Digital Signage Division. "We're proud to be working with Vertigo to demonstrate how our state-of-the-art yet simple and cost-effective solutions complement one another very well."

The new Matrox Extio F1400 is the world's first remote graphics unit capable of separating the graphics hardware from the computer by up to 250 meters (820 feet) via fiber optic cable. The F1400 also contains six USB 2.0 ports and audio connections that enable the remote use of speakers and peripheral devices such as mice, keyboards, and cameras. Designed for professional applications, it supports up to four digital or analog displays at a time and operates in near-silence thanks to its passive cooling system. In addition to the Extio F1400, Matrox will also be demonstrating dual-display graphics solutions with its Millennium P650 PCI Express card, which will drive content created by Vertigo's Xpresenter software.

Xpresenter is an affordable, stand-alone system that turns Microsoft PowerPoint® presentations into broadcast-quality graphics and video, in any format and at any resolution. It enables PowerPoint® users to leverage the same platform used by some of the world's largest broadcast TV networks to create engaging content - including broadcast CG graphics, animations, and video - for digital signage applications, corporate communications, cable info channels, and webcasting. Xpresenter works seamlessly with a wide range of hardware vendors' graphics cards and is able to exploit fully the multihead display capabilities provided by Matrox's quad-output cards.
