Matrox Medical Imaging solutions for Radiology/PACS

Medical imaging professionals using PACS, RIS, and HIS solutions are demanding multi-display workstations in a variety of configurations and featuring stellar image quality, performance and reliability. Matrox delivers, with display controller boards designed for medical imaging professionals supporting a variety of medical display resolutions from 1.3 MP up to 5 MP in grayscale or color, portrait or landscape modes. Performance, stability and precision are key when viewing acquired images, regardless of the modality. Window/level, zoom, pan, cineloops and other functions typically used in imaging must be smooth, quick and accurate. Matrox has designed its medical imaging boards with these needs in mind, offering software applications the ability to use hardware acceleration for such functions, rather than taxing the system's CPU. Recognized as a graphics board technology leader in multi-display support, image quality, with longevity and stability, and supporting a variety of APIs (such as GDI, GDI+, OpenGL, DirectX and JAVA), Matrox's engineering teams concentrate on addressing challenges and work with many different medical imaging software developers, OEMs and display manufacturers, in order to ensure compatibility and optimize solutions.

Matrox MED™ Series, including Matrox MED2mp, Matrox MED3mp and Matrox MED5mp, represents a top-to-bottom solution capable of a scope of dual-display configurations for landscape and portrait modes. Matrox RAD™ Series AGP, PCI and PCIe display controller boards feature dual output support for grayscale or color, analog or digital displays, continuing Matrox's world-renowned tradition of imaging excellence, and are ideal for diagnostic or review workstations. When multiple Matrox MED and/or Matrox RAD boards are configured in a system, display functionality of one board is extended across multiple boards, providing equivalent capabilities to all displays. Matrox AuroraVX™ Series, a low profile PCI Express solution, can power up to three displays (one Navigation Console Display, along with two Twin Imaging Displays) from a single board. Both the Matrox MED Series and Matrox AuroraVX Series are capable of driving and simultaneously displaying 10-bit grayscale images with appropriate displays. Matrox Xenia™ Series is capable of driving three high-resolution digital displays from a single PCIe x16 board. Xenia Series supports high-resolution each with 8,10, and 13-bit independent GAMMA LUTs.

Matrox display controller boards designed for medical imaging professionals are available bundled with a range of medical displays from a variety of display manufacturers and integrators.
