Matrox extra hardware guide

Last updated: 2006.03.14

The following is a guide to the variety of connectors used with currently shipping Matrox graphics hardware. To see which products use what, see the Matrox product line-up or Matrox product information. For more information on each item, see the Matrox user guide for the product or products that includes a particular item.

Extra hardware
Description

a. DVI-to-HD15 connector adapter

Allows an analog monitor (using an HD-15 connector) to connect to a digital/analog DVI connector.

b. DVI-to-HD15 dual-monitor adapter cable

Divides a DVI connector for use with 2 analog monitors (using HD-15 connectors) at a time.

c. TV-output adapter cable (HD15 to composite video and S-video)

Allows a composite video and/or an S-video output device (typically a TV or video recorder) to connect to an HD-15 connector. Each output device (composite video or S-video) receives the same video signal in different formats.

d. Stereo-3D bracket (mini DIN3 connector)

Allows a stereoscopic device (for example, glasses with LCD shutters) to synchronize with the stereo-3D output of the graphics hardware. The bracket is installed in an extra slot opening in the back of the computer.

e. Stereo-3D adapter cable (mini DIN3 connector)

Allows a stereoscopic device (for example, glasses with LCD shutters) to synchronize with the stereo-3D output of the graphics hardware. This adapter cable is installed between DVI connectors and allows the monitor signal to pass through while providing extra output for stereoscopic synchronization.

f. LFH60-to-DVI dual-monitor adapter cable

Divides an LFH-60 connector for use with 1 or 2 digital or analog monitors at a time. One or two analog monitors using HD-15 connecters can be attached using DVI-to-HD15 connector adapters

g. KX20-to-DVI quad-monitor adapter cable

Divides a KX20 connector for use with 1-4 digital or analog monitors at a time. One or more analog monitors using HD-15 connecters can be attached using DVI-to-HD15 connector adapters.

h. Extra bracket for different form factor (LP or ATX)

Matrox graphics cards with a LP (low-profile) form factor may include an extra bracket different from the bracket already installed on the card. The extra bracket allows the card to be adapted for computers with different form factors (LP or ATX).

i. LFH60-to-HD15 dual-monitor adapter cable

Divides an LFH-60 connector for use with 2 analog monitors (using HD-15 connectors) at a time.

j. LFH60-to-LFH60 cable

Connects a graphics card using an LFH-60 connector to a monitor using an LFH-60 connector. (See Parhelia HR256.)

k. LFH60-to-LFH60 cable with USB connector

Connects a graphics card using an LFH-60 connector to a monitor using an LFH-60 connector. The cable includes a USB connector for firmware update of the monitor. (See Parhelia HR256.)

l. 3W3-to-BNC cable

Connects a graphics card using a 3W3 connector to high-quality grayscale monitor using BNC connectors. (See Parhelia Precision SGT.)

m. DVI-to-HD15/DVI dual-monitor adapter cable

Divides a DVI connector for use with 1 digital or analog monitor (using a DVI connector) and 1 analog monitor (using an HD-15 connector). (See Parhelia APVe.)

n. HD15-to-component-video (HDTV) adapter cable

Allows an HDTV (High-Definition TV) using component video input to be connected to the HD-15 connector with certain Matrox products. (See Parhelia APVe.)

o. Universal power adapter and region-specific power cable(s)

Provides an external power supply for devices outside the computer. The power supply is compatible with different types of electrical power used in throughout the world. Different power cables accommodate the different types of power outlets used in various regions. (See DualHead2Go, TripleHead2Go, and Extio F1400.)

p. HD15-to-HD15 monitor cable (2-foot)

This cable connects the monitor output of a computer to the input of an external multi-display upgrade. The cable is for analog connections but can be used with a DVI connector using a DVI-to-HD15 adapter. (See DualHead2Go and TripleHead2Go.)

q. DVI-to-HD15 monitor cable (2-foot)

This cable connects the DVI monitor output of a computer to the input of an external multi-display upgrade. (See TripleHead2Go.)
