Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE Directive)

The European Union's deadline for the implementation of the WEEE Directive is August 13, 2005.

According to directive 2002/96/EC, collection of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) is the responsibility of the national and local authorities, whereas the producers (or importers) are responsible for financing the treatment (recycling) of the EEE for product sold into the market after the August 13th, 2005 deadline.

At the state level, processes for collection and treatment continue to be under development in many of the EU countries. Matrox intends to comply with the guidelines of the local authorities in each of the EU countries as they are published.

Matrox products put into the EU market after August 13th, 2005 bearing the symbol below indicate that the product should not be disposed of.

Additionally, so as to facilitate the collection of retired Matrox products (i.e. products purchased prior to August 13th, 2005) from our valued customers, and to ensure these products are recycled in an environmentally-friendly manner, we have put our own return process into place.
